Wide Field Imaging

When taking long exposure photos of the night sky the exposure length is limited by the movement of the stars. With a tripod mounted DSLR, an exposure of more than 30 seconds will start to show star trails.

In this project we will use your camera and telescope mount to take long exposure photos of the night sky focused on a wide area of the sky without forming trails.

With a long enough exposure we will see many more stars, their colours and bright nebulae (clouds of gas).
