A Sky Map shows the position of constellations and planets as they would appear at a particular time of night. This one shows the sky over Melbourne Australia. To use it, hold the map over your head and align south on the map with true south. The stars on the map will now align with the stars in the sky. As the night sky changes through the year, regularly update your sky map so it’s accurate.
Be aware that you will look like a dork, but as astronomy is done in the dark, so nobody will see you!
